Welcome and congratulations on starting your yoga journey!
We know that starting something new can sometimes feel intimidating, awkward, and even a bit scary, and our teachers are trained to make you feel right at home on your mat. Please know that ALL of our students and instructors have been where you are and at one point took their very first yoga class. So you’re in good company.
We offer a variety of class types from mellow gentle stretching to advanced vinyasa and recommend exploring several to find out which style of yoga feels right to you. Most of our classes are for all levels, meaning that you’ll be practicing alongside a full range of students, from other beginners to long-time practitioners. “Doors” open ten minutes before class starts. Once you’re in class, you will have the option to keep your camera on or off (no pressure!). If you choose to keep your camera on, the teacher can give you extra support and encouragement during your practice as well.
Don’t know where to start? We’ll gladly provide you with a free one-on-one video or phone call to help you get oriented. Our goal is to do everything in our power to make sure you have a wonderful experience. If you’re interested in scheduling one, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can show you the basic poses so that you don’t feel lost on day one. We can also discuss your goals (e.g. get fit, gain flexibility, lose weight, feel calmer/less stressed, etc.) and build you a custom plan so that the guess work is completely taken out of it.
You’re also invited to stay after class and ask our teachers any questions you might have. All of our teachers love to talk yoga and are happy to help!
Besides that, breathe, listen to the cues, and listen to your body. Take breaks as often as you need to for as long as you need to and join up with the class whenever you feel ready.
